Formech visits the de Havilland Aircraft Museum at London Colney, where historic de Havilland aircraft are displayed and restored.

The Museum’s mission is to preserve and communicate the de Havilland Heritage to ensure that current and future generations of all ages will understand de Havilland’s contribution to innovative British Aviation technology.

It features a wide range of de Havilland engines and aircraft, including the Comet 1A, the world’s first turbojet-powered airliner.

Formech was pleased to be able to help with its restoration by providing a mould and vacuum forming machine to create new window coverings for its - controversial - square windows.

The window coverings were made from 1.5mm ABS on a 686 Floor-Standing Vacuum Forming machine.

Watch the video to find out why the windows were controversial and see how well the new windows look.
